We are delighted to hear that the J-pillow travel pillow is helping not only travelers, but also patients who sleep in an upright position due to medical conditions. Elderly people who find it difficult to hold their heads upright might also benefit from using the pillow, along with anyone who suffers from stiffness in the neck.
Although the J-pillow travel pillow is not a certified medical device (and we always recommend seeking professional advice if you do have a problem), we receive a lot of feedback from customers who say the pillow has helped them in different ways. We are always very happy and excited to hear this.
We wanted to know exactly how and why J-pillow works so well, so we asked some of the UK’s leading medical experts to explain the mechanics behind the pillow.
This is what they had to say:
"The J-pillow travel pillow's innovative design reduces stress on the soft tissues of the neck, including the discs, ligaments, tendons and muscles. This affords the user a comfortable sleep, even in the upright position. The J-pillow also reduces the risk of the head falling forward when sleeping upright and potentially causing injury to the posterior cervical muscles and ligaments.
The J-pillow travel pillow is ideal for use while travelling but may also prove helpful to some people who suffer from neck pain as it supports the neck and helps keep the cervical spine aligned in its correct anatomical position".

"J-pillow's innovative design provides support for the neck and comfortable supported sleep whether in a car or in the home or in bed. This will be helpful in preventing future problems as well as protecting those suffering with neck symptoms arising from disc degeneration and related issues such as "wear and tear" or arthritis of the joints or degeneration of the discs.
The J-pillow travel pillow is a simple, lightweight device. It is providing a valuable addition which I heartily recommended."

"The J-pillow travel pillow has a simple yet ingenious new design that supports the neck from the side and the front in a way that other travel pillows don't. Lack of anterior and side support when sleeping upright can cause the head to drop excessively forward. This places strain on the intervertebral discs, ligaments and joints which can contribute to the development of injuries in the neck. Worse still, when travelling, for example on a plane, train or car journey, the head can drop forcibly forward as one falls asleep causing a mini whiplash style injury traumatising to the posterior neck muscles and ligaments. Thankfully, excessive and forceful anterior or lateral head movement is prevented with J-Pillow which should prove good news for preventing neck pain and neck injuries!

"All the staff have been involved in using the J-pillows travel pillow and the feedback has been very positive indeed. We also found the pillows to be highly effective when used for residents in bed. Some residents don't always appear comfortable when in bed, but not only did J-pillow make them look more comfortable but they maintained the head and neck position to maximise comfort. The feedback from staff, residents and relatives has been positive all round and we will continue to use them."
